John 20

Daily Devotional from John 20—

Verses 21 and 22
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

In Genesis 2 God created man and woman with a purpose. He told them to work and keep the land, He breathed his life into them and gave them a duty. Humans fell away from God and lost sight of their purpose. But then Jesus came and died, and when we were dead in our sins, He breathed new life into us and gave us a new purpose. We are still responsible to work and keep the land. Let us consider what that might mean today. One thing that comes to mind is to love our neighbors and to disciple and raise up firm believers in Christ. How can we cultivate the area we live and shift the people toward Jesus? We have been given the Spirit to do this work - you have help!

God has good works for you to step into today; ask him for opportunities and for a knowledge of His will for you.
