Verse 22
Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the son of man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven.
Sometimes following Jesus will put you out of step with the world. And whenever that happens, we’re tempted to fall in line. Yet those who fall in line, as we read in verse 26, often fall out of step with Jesus. You can’t dance to two songs at the same time. But if you let the song of heaven seep into your soul, the audience of earth may grow disenchanted. Don’t even trip. In fact, rejoice, for the song hasn’t reached its crescendo yet. Just keep feeling the groove.
