Ezekiel 17-18
Daily Devotional from Ezekiel 18—
Verse 32
For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD; so turn, and live.
Even after all their wickedness, God still offered His people forgiveness if they turned from sin and chose right living. Eventually God made a way for all to be reconciled to Him through His Son, Jesus. Romans 3:23b says, “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
We can’t be righteous by ourselves, even after choosing Jesus we struggle to hit the mark. But thank Jesus that when God looks at my life, He sees Jesus’s sacrifice, holiness, and righteousness. This doesn’t mean we can go around doing evil, but it does mean we are free from the pressures of having to live a perfect life. Jesus is the only one who accomplished that, and that’s why we put our faith in Him—because He is the only way to God.
Jesus didn’t die so we could try to live a holy life without Him. Talk to Him, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you throughout your day, and never forget what He has done for you.
