Matthew 10

Daily Devotional from Matthew 10--

Verses 5-6
Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Sometimes Jesus will put restrictions on our life for a certain time. He closes the door. He tells us “No.” In the moment, we may think he’s being harsh or unfair. He prohibits and he withholds. Why? Well, at least in this situation, the time wasn’t right. We know that at the end of Matthew, Jesus calls these same disciples to every nation of the world (28:19). And, if you read the Old Testament, that was his plan from the beginning. He was just waiting for the right time. First things first.
Maybe you’re feeling hedged in by the Lord today. Perhaps even limited in your options. Well, we can see from Matthew 10 that God is a God of order. All things have their time. A delay is not necessarily a denial. Trust that he has the master plan, and will bring release when the time is right.
