Deuteronomy 8-9
Daily Devotional from Deuteronomy 8--
Verse 5
Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you.
Words cannot express what a father feels toward his son. He is the apple of his eye. But if he’s going to be worth his weight in salt, he’s gonna need a little training. So, the father will bring the heat when the occasion calls for it. Not because he’s trying to be mean, but because he loves his son and wants him to reach his full potential. Well, that’s the attitude God takes toward you and me. He loves us – like a father loves his son. So, the next time you face his correction, and I hope you do, just remember you are the apple of his eye and there’s a purpose to the pain.
