Numbers 28-29
Daily Devotional from Numbers 28--
Verse 25
And on the seventh day you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work.
All throughout today’s reading, we see time set for holy convocations. A time when everybody takes a break from ordinary work and gathers together. Wouldn’t that be a cool thing to experience today? What would it look like? How would we incorporate it? In Israel, this was done on a national level. But in America everything is go-go-go. I mean, we do have holidays that are kind of like this but they stay in the family setting. And even then many people work on holidays.
It would be interesting to have holy gathering days dedicated to such things. So let’s dwell on that today. What would that look like as a community? In some ways, this is the church for us today. But I also think the idea found here is so much more. Imagine this with me, if you will.
