Numbers 18-19

Daily Devotional from Numbers 19--
Verse 9b
And they shall be kept for the water for impurity for the congregation of the people of Israel; it is a sin offering.
Clean, unclean, and water are words we see repeated over and over throughout these passages. God gave direction again and again to the people of Israel on the care they were to undertake in order to be set apart.
But, just like us, the Israelites fell short time and time again. There was no way to perfectly uphold the standards of cleanliness. The beauty is that Jesus Christ offers us  “living water” (John 7:38). Jesus said, “The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (read John 4:13-14). When we give our lives to Jesus, He cleanses and purifies us. That doesn’t mean we won’t mess up or fall short, but we can trust that His grace is sufficient and turn to Him in our weakness.
Today, let’s choose to trust Jesus’ sacrifice and remember, with joy and thankfulness, the living water that He has given us.
