Psalm 26

Daily Devotional from Psalm 27– 

Verse 4
“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in
his temple.”

I always thought David was talking about Heaven when he asked the Lord that “I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.” But no, he was asking God to let him be of service to the house of the Lord and to His people. What an amazing goal, after being a warrior, to desire to dwell in the house of the Lord serving both God and His people.

Is that your desire? It is certainly mine. What an amazing opportunity God has given us to serve Him and each other in our church community. I encourage you to ask God how you can serve Him and His people today. I guarantee to you, there is nothing greater than serving God and the people He loves. It is also a great way to see the beauty of the Lord and a great place to seek the Lord with your whole heart. When you seek Him, you will find Him.
