2 Kings 23
Daily Devotional from 2 Kings 23--
Verse 25
Before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might…nor did any like him arise after him.
To say King Josiah changed some things up during his rule is an understatement. He dismantled traditions, broke customs, and forsook dignity as he rid the nation of false gods. One thing we know for sure is that the king wasn’t worried about keeping people comfortable. In many ways, his reign reminds me of the impact Jesus had on people when he came to earth.
Josiah’s attitude in this passage makes me reflect on my own. Am I holding onto comfort, or am I holding onto Jesus with all my heart, soul, and might? Reflect on this today, and ask the Lord how to pursue him with all that you are.
