Psalm 25
Daily Devotional from Psalm 26–
Verses 1-2
“Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. Prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and my mind.”
In this psalm, King David claims his integrity and his trust in God. He asks the Lord to examine, confirm, and protect him as a result.
This is what we expect if we are living a life pleasing to the Lord. We expect God to bless us and life to go smoothly. But we know from experience that bad things happen
to good people. Life is not always fair. Suffering happens despite how “righteous” we are.
Spiritual maturity is trusting God despite unfavorable circumstances. He is on our side. He has our back. He works ALL things together for our good (Rom. 8:28).
