2 Kings 12
Daily Devotional from 2 Kings 12--
Verse 2
And Jehoash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all his days, because Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
As I was reading, this verse stood out to me. It could have just said that Jehoash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and left it at that, but instead it chose to tell us he was instructed by Jehoiada. This brought me to think how necessary accountability is in our Christian walk. We can’t do it alone. Maybe you have people you confide in for counsel? If you don’t have somebody, find someone! If you are young, find somebody older with lots of life experience. If you are older, take someone young under your wing - that’s what the Church is all about!
Hebrews 10:24 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
