Daily Devotional from 2 Chronicles 5--
Verse 14
“So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.”
Solomon had completed the house of the Lord, with all its riches and beauty. The ark of the covenant containing the two tablets of stone was brought in. There was great celebration - with 120 priests blowing trumpets, singers lifting their voices in unison, cymbals, and other musical instruments. When they declared the goodness and steadfast love of the Lord, the glory of the Lord filled the Temple.
Do you remember times during worship in church, when the presence of God felt so real? When you were overwhelmed with a sense of well-being, of His love for you, of His greatness, His power? Perhaps you couldn’t stand. Perhaps there were tears of joy. Our worship pleases Him and He blesses us.
Thank God for the taste of heaven He gives us while we are still on earth.
