Daily Devotional from 1 Chronicles 5--

Verses 25 & 26
But they broke faith with the God of their fathers, and
whored after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them. So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, the spirit of Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and he took them into exile.

The children of Israel continued to forget the blessings of
God and sought after what was forbidden by Him. And they
paid a great price — exile.
Won’t they ever learn?
The same could be asked of us.
How many times have we had to take advantage of 1 John
1:9?
Thank God that He provided a way for us to escape the
punishment we sorely deserve.
