Psalm 63

Verse 1
“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”
This is a beautiful thought, isn’t it? Imagine David in his royal robes, sitting by a refreshing fountain nibbling on a platter of delectables, composing these songs for the Lord.

King David wrote this one, scholars believe, while he was hiding out in the wilderness from Absalom, who was trying to kill him and usurp the throne. David was in a place of relational AGONY when he wrote this! Surely he was stressed, tired, hungry, dirty - running for his life from his own son! When we go through difficult times or relational turbulence, it is important to remember that there is ONE who always has our back, always loves us, is there for us, guiding us, and wrapping us in His presence. Seek Him always. Thirst for Him. He is the true and living water.
