Daily Devotional from Job 5--
Verse 8
“However, if I were you, I would appeal to God and would present my case to him.”
Job was suffering through an incredible amount of grief, and this was a piece of advice given to him by his friend Eliphaz. On the surface, it sounds good and wise, because we SHOULD appeal to God. HOWEVER, we no longer need to present our case to him because Jesus is advocating on our behalf.
Take a moment and read Romans 8:34, Hebrews 9:24, and 1 John 2:1-2.
Are you in a season of suffering? You have an advocate interceding on your behalf right now. He’s pleading your case, not using your own good deeds or righteousness, but he is covering you with his.
