Nehemiah 12
Daily Devotional from Nehemiah 12--
Verse 43
“Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.”
The preparations had been made. The Priests and the Levites had their assignments. Two choirs had been assembled. The musical instruments were ready. They knew their places; I’m sure they practiced their songs. It was time to rejoice. The Temple was rebuilt and ready for sacrifices.
The Bible tells us that even the children rejoiced.
I picture God sitting on His throne with the biggest smile watching the children rejoice and planning good things for those who will stay faithful to Him. What a wonderful day for the Jews. And what wonderful days we have when we gather as a community to worship and rejoice in
the Lord. While we are waiting for our next gathering, let’s find 3 reasons to rejoice in the Lord today. He is Worthy!
