Psalm 74

Daily Devotional from Psalm 74—

Verse 2
“Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage!”

There are quite a few instances of people in the Bible calling out to God to ‘remember us!’ which is another way of saying ‘don’t forget about us!’

I have a friend who tells a story about the time when he accidentally forgot he had his 4-year-old daughter in the store with him, and she got distracted looking at something, and he checked out and left without her! Whoops!

When we are not seeing God move in the way we’d hoped/prayed/expected, it can be easy to panic and feel like He’s moved on or left us behind or forgotten us! Take heart, though, he is a good Father and he said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5b)

We don’t always see his plan, we don’t always feel his presence, but he is always there, walking beside us, guiding, comforting, loving.
