2 Thessalonians 2

Daily Devotional from 2 Thessalonians 2--

Verse 3
Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.

Paul the Apostle urges the church of the Thessalonians to not be “quickly shaken” or “alarmed” by those claiming the Day of the Lord has come. Instead, he tells them to remember what they were taught, look out for the signs, to not be deceived, and to trust God’s timing. He tells the Thessalonians to “stand firm” and “hold to the traditions.”

We too should heed Paul’s instruction. All around us, we hear of those claiming to know when Christ will return or claiming themselves to be Christ—but we must stand firm and not be deceived. The Return of Jesus is going to be a very exciting thing for us believers—not something to fear. It should comfort us that our Savior is coming back in glory to take us to be with Him. If someone is trying to instill fear in you about Christ’s return, don’t give into it—we as believers have nothing to fear and everything to look forward to!

So today, stand firm and let no one deceive you!
